Owner Mike Owen has been involved in Grand National Dirt Track Racing for nearly 30 years and has been bulding frames at a professional level exclusively for dirt track racing for 13 years. He has worked directly with most of the Grand national and amateur teams, supplying them with high-quality products and extensive technical expertise at races.
J&M Racing developed one of the first linkage suspension Harley Davidson XR750 frames with consistent finishes in AMA Grand National competition, winning the presitgious 2002 AMA Grand National Hall of Fame Race at the Harrington, Delaware 1/2 mile with Eddie Adkins-built, Chris Hart-ridden machine.
J&M Racing Products was responsible for bringing a competitive alternative to the Rotax 500/600 Single in the mid-1990's using KTM's LC4 water-cooled single with engine and chassis development being done exclusively in our shop. With Rusty Rogers, Mike Hacker, Rodney Farris, Kevin Varnes, and Joe Kopp as team riders, over a four-year period we achieved numerous AMA Hot Shoe and Grand National finishes. This ultimately led to the forming of the KTM factory-supported race team with J&M Racing Products responsible for rider selection, engine, chassis, and suspension development.
